Freeride training weekend

Are you not sure if you can handle the level of one of our freeride trips? Would you like to get 'back in the game' before the start of the ski season? Or do you just want to spend a few days freerinding some of the best terrain there is in the Alps? In that case, this intensive freeride training weekend suits you perfectly!

The Espace Mont Blanc, the three countries area around the highest mountains in the Alps, is an Eldorado for freeriders. Steep slopes, majestic glaciers in the high mountains mark the region. During this intensive freeride training weekend you train your off piste skitechnique. Naturally, this involves learning to deal with avalanche safety equipment. These guided off piste ski weekends are intended for advanced piste skiers easily descending red runs and able to ski black runs safely and monitored. Off piste experience is an advantage but not absolutely necessary to be able to participate in this short ski break. It is important that you are in good shape and move easily. You'll be pushed outside your boundaries and ski away from the crowded slopes with grandiose descents in a stunning setting.

Highlights:

  • Gain plenty of off piste experience in a limited amount of time

  • You'll ski all types of terrain, from high-altitude alpine glaciers to adventurous tree skiing

  • Easily accessible location (fly to Geneva, direct train to Finhaut)

  • Also suitable for snowboarders

OFF PISTE SKI WEEKEND WITH SNOW SAFETY TRAINING

The programnma components include ski instruction on and off the piste and so called snow safety training: the use of avalanche search devices, probes and shovels and safety instruction outside the piste. Under the motto of 'learning by doing' the mountain guide gives instruction in skiing off piste in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. At the same time he takes you to the magnificent high alpine mountain world with its many glaciers and craggy granite rocks where this unique area is so famous for.

With less good weather there are wonderful deep snow descents in the lower forests. The experienced mountain and ski guide always seems to find the best spots.

You will stay at the Bekker Chalet, our own ski lodge with spa facilities which is located just outside the Chamonix Valley only a few steps away from the ski resorts at the foot of Mont Blanc and Chamonix. After a hearty breakfast with freshly baked bread and fresh fruit served by Ilse, our 4x4 minivan is ready to roll and take you to one of the beautiful resorts in this world reknowed area. In the evening you can relax in front of the stove and enjoy a glass of good wine, good food (sometimes at home, served by Ilse, and sometimes in a restaurant within walking distance - always included in the price) and heat up in the sauna or the wood-fired hot tub on the terrace. The chalet features TV and everywhere free, fast WiFi. Coffee and tea are always included for free during your stay. You'll stay in comfortable 2-4 person rooms (3 rooms for up to 7 participants, one double room with private shower / toilet. Those who book first are first served!).

Programme: Day 1, check-in between 4 and 7 pm, followed by a welcome briefing, drink, snack and 3-course dinner. Day 2 and 3 full ski days; every day you will discover new descents and places. In the evenings, you return to our private catered chalet where a après ski snack is served, followed by a 3-course dinner.  Day 4: ski until 1-2 pm, afterwards you have the possibility to travel home or, upon availability, spend an extra night and dinner at our chalet (€ 75 pp supplement)

We recommend that you use your own comfortable ski boots during this program. In terms skis we recommend to choose for wider freerideski's (ski rental on-site upon reservation). All avalanche materials (beacon, shovel and probe) and even the ABS avalanche airbag are included!

This winter program can also be organised for families and private groups. Request a free quote (do not forget the dates, number of participants, participants ages and skiing experience, wishes concerning accommodation)
